ABOUT US

Kim Herum M.A.
In 1982, upon completion of our
undergraduate studies, my husband Mike and I left for the Middle East as
missionaries and eventually ended up in Europe
reaching out to Middle Eastern refugees.
Upon returning to the States in 1995 I struggled through ‘the dark
night of the soul.’ After four years of struggling alone, I finally received counseling from my pastor, which convinced me of the benefit of the Body of
Christ ministering healing to one another.
In 2002 I received a Masters Degree in Urban Ministry majoring in Pastoral Counseling, and Marriage and Family Therapy. Although I have the academic requirements to
pursue state licensure as a Professional Counselor or as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I have chosen to minister through a healing ministry and am not
licensed by the state of Alabama.
I began Council of God
Ministries in 2002 in Greenwood, Indiana where I ministered for four years until our
recent move to Alabama in 2006. During this time, I attended seminary taking some post-graduate classes, and was a Hospital Chaplain
Intern participating in two semesters of Clinical Pastoral Training.
Mike and I have been married nearly 30 years and are the parents of
four wonderful children in their late teens and twenties.
